Archaeologist Dinosaur – Ice Age is a great interactive educational game for young ones. For just $3.00, the game has 18 levels/animals to uncover as an archaeologist. Young players will get to put the animals together, color them in, and learn fun facts along the way. This was definitely a hit among our playtesters who love dinosaurs and digging!
The game has a fun educational spin with fun facts about dinosaurs and other animals. We found it to be engaging and easy to navigate for young players.
The app is free of any in-app purchases and has a single button to access more apps by MagisterApp. The privacy policy is scant, and while it contains nothing immediately concerning, we’d like to see specific COPPA considerations.

Archaeologist Dinosaur – Ice Age starts out with a title screen that you can either choose “Ice Age” or “Puzzles and Colors”.
In the “Ice Age” menu, you play the part of a female archaeologist on a paleontology mission. Laid before you is a 17 level journey through the ice age’s fossils of dinosaurs. In each level, there are 3 sections.
The first section features an icy screen where you use your finger to tap away at ice in order to pick away and unearth pieces of the whole creature’s fossil/bones. In the next section, you will fit the bones/fossils on a map of the creature (like a puzzle) in order to reveal what the entire fossil looks like when it’s all together. After that, there is a short explanation, teaching about these different animals, and what they were like when they existed on the earth. The information is all very educational and fun. It includes what type of food it ate, its size, and other fun facts.
The Puzzles and Colors page has 18 different animals/dinosaurs that you can choose to do a puzzle of and then color. The puzzle in this section of the game has the same animals that players have found fossils for, but this time, they are not fossils, but how they’d look when they were living creatures. After the puzzle is completed, you can also feed the creature random foods.
This coloring section has software that helps kids color in the lines by isolating the available coloring space by only letting you color on the shape or segment of the image where your finger starts coloring. For example, if you begin coloring inside the space of the dino’s spike, it won’t draw outside into the background behind the spike until you pick your finger up and specifically draw in that other area.
