Archeologist-Ancient Egypt is an interactive game suited for kids who love history, especially Egyptian mythology.
Part of the series of Magister Apps themed around Archeology, this app is a fun exploration of ancient Egypt and the reign of the Pharaohs.
While the game is free to download and has some content that can be accessed without payment, the full version unlocks most of what makes this app fun and immersive. The $2.99 price point is reasonable, however, this is a “complete it once and it’s done” type of app.
As kids discover the world of archeology they’ll get to seek out entrances to secret rooms in the pyramids and begin their excavations. Once they’ve found all the necessary elements they’ll move on to restoration and reconstruction.
We love the fact sheets that are included in the game which add a nice opportunity for parent and child to review history tidbits along the way. The activities are fun and simple, great for a younger audience.
Like their other apps, the privacy policy ensures this is a safe app for your little one to play without any concerns. It’s also free of ads and can be played offline too.

When you start the game, an archeologist is waiting for you to help him dig and excavate the Pyramids of Ancient Egypt. There isn’t much instruction so it may be good to have a parent guide for younger kids. For slightly older players they can likely navigate their way through the experience.
You’ll start with a search, then move on to excavation, and then complete the experience with the restoration of all the artifacts that were collected. The free version has 5 stages, which may be worth testing out before making the purchase. Some of our playtesters found the content to be a little dull and moved on from the app before getting through the free content.
