Girls Nail Salon is part of the large repertoire of apps by Pazu Games. Like most of their games, this is a little over the top but something most creative kids seem to gravitate towards.
The premise is simple: create custom nail art that’s wacky, subtle, and just about everything in-between.
Our test players had many a giggle while designing their own nails in the game. The app is straightforward to use and kids love the variety, however, be forewarned that to access all the patterns and character art requires in-app purchases ranging from $6 to the full Pazu Membership at just over $70.
The privacy policy is pretty good although it doesn’t clearly delineate what is being collected and why. Information such as cookie data is shared with their advertising partners.
Speaking of advertising, there is a lot of it. So much so that we found it to be painfully disruptive to play and actually caused some of our playtesters to lose interest in the game.
The game is easy to understand and the wild effects make kids excited to create and design their own nail art. We liked the variety of designs, colors, and stickers offered within the game.
A parent could use this as an educational opportunity with toddlers by identifying and familiarizing them with colors, shapes, and animals (there are animal stickers).
Players essentially scroll through design options from colors to patterns to thematic sets to customize their nails. We found this especially fun with multiple kids at once where they could create together.
The ads do interrupt the design process which may be intolerable for some players.
