Miga Town: My Fire Station

A 2D imaginative play firehouse-themed “virtual dollhouse”.

ABOUT

Miga Town: Fire Sation is free to download and play, but most of its content is locked behind a one-time $3.99 paywall. After that, you get quite a bit of content to play around with within this cute town, so there’s some good value here.

An inspection of their privacy policy reveals they don’t collect any information “from your social account”, although their page (https://miga-kids.com/privacypolicy/) looks low budget and a little scant. This might be the result of a low-budget website, but it doesn’t look altogether thoughtful or confidence-inspiring. There is no mention of COPPA.

There aren’t any ads in this game, other than the notification when you’ve tapped on a location that is locked behind the paywall. As far as in-app purchases go, there are none, outside the $3.99 to unlock all the content.

Our editor rating sits at a 2 because as far as virtual dollhouses go, this will keep your young children busy for a long while, and might be a good game to have on hand for imaginative minds. If your children aren’t very into imaginative play and need clear goals or objectives in their games, this might not be the perfect fit.

GAME PLAY

The game opens up on the title page, and immediately, you will be able to view 6 cute locations including the fire station (with a control center, garage, etc.) and a nearby apartment complex (with fire around to give the fire people something to do).

Once you’ve chosen a location, you can pull characters out of your character dock and place them where you like amongst the room’s many set pieces and character accessories. There are many firehouse-type set-pieces along with standard Miga ones (couches, closets, beds, showers, etc.).

There is a lot to explore and play within these interactive locations. While most locations are locked behind a one-time paywall, this free version offers 1 location for kids to play in. The gameplay revolves around imaginative play with the characters in their environment. It is much like a digital dollhouse as you play around with their clothing and accessories. There is also fire around the town to put out in the paid version.

Summary

Although Miga Town has a paywall, the unlockable content is pretty expansive. The $3.99 goes a long way in this imaginative play game. Young kids will be distracted as they play around this adorable fire station and flaming apartment. Although it’s unlikely they would learn much, Miga Town focuses on the fun design and experience rather than teaching anything.

Pros

Cute animation, interaction, and music.

Ad-free

A lot to explore and play with

Cons

Questionable Privacy Policy

No obvious educational value
