Pepi House is part of the large series of Pepi Play apps, created in Lithuania. At $2.99, users unlock the ability to transport a virtual dollhouse with 4 floors and 10 characters anywhere they take their device. There is a reasonable amount more in terms of interactive items here compared to other virtual dollhouses. The art style is vibrant with fun animations and sound effects. We especially liked the music-themed room with a variety of musical instruments to interact with.
Like other Pepi Play apps, Pepi House is COPPA compliant, ensuring your no data is shared about your child or their usage of the app.
While there isn’t much education in the app, it’s a fun and exploratory experience. It’s about as educational as a real dollhouse would be, but with parent support, it can be turned into a learning experience. For example, parents could guide children to identify items in the room, colors, sounds, etc.
We’re happy to report that there aren’t any ads or in-app purchases in Pepi House. Your initial purchase covers all of the content within the app.
The game opens up on the title page, which features the 4-floor Pepi House. After pressing play, you are able to scroll between the floors: (Garage and yard, Kitchen/living room, Bedroom/Bathroom/Laundry, Kids Bedroom/Patio).
Once you’ve chosen a location, you can pull characters out of your character dock and place them where you like amongst the room’s many set pieces and character accessories. There are hundreds of character accessories that interact with the characters and with each other. Many animations help aid imaginative play as kids move items between characters and containers. For instance, food will sizzle when you drag and drop it onto the stove’s pots and pans. Characters will consume food as you drag it to their mouths.
There is a lot to explore and play with on these interactive floors. There is also an elevator that moves between floors that you can place accessories and characters in to move across the house. It is much like a digital dollhouse as you play around with their clothing and accessories. This game is very similar to other virtual dollhouses, and really what you get different in this app is a new type of animation/design.
