Sago Mini World combines more than 20 Sago mini-games into a single monthly subscription ($6.99/mo or $49.99 annually).
The wildly popular learn-through-play apps have had a long-standing positive reputation in the app store and this single app experience certainly makes it easier and more affordable for parents just venturing into the Sago world.
The games are really great for preschoolers and vary from exploring space to building robots, and so much more. The games are incredibly exploratory without very specific objectives. Kids tap on items to see what type of response it elicits and continue to explore from there! There are subtle learning opportunities like numbers and counting, plus chances to be creative via dress-up.
We have always loved the Sago mini experiences and find this to stick with what has made them stand out in the kids space. With hundreds of activities and over 35 games, there is a lot for young explorers to do. The app is typically updated once a month with new content, which goes to subscribers first.
Sago Mini is also a leader in kids privacy in the app space, adhering to COPPA rules. There’s no in-app advertising either. Players without a subscription will be prompted to purchase a membership, so it’s not entirely free of in-app purchases.
The app can be played offline, assuming that you’ve downloaded the content in advance.
Upon installing the app parents will be prompted to set up an account and begin a trial-membership and/or make a purchase. There is typically a 7-day free trial.
Parents have some basic settings they can access in the parent area, blocked by an age verification system.
Once the parent account is set up kids can begin to play. They’ll be able to choose from a variety of themed areas that begin their gameplay experience. Starting with the Fun Fair, kids will learn that they can tap and drag items to make things change within a scene. This exploratory experience is a fun way to get the hang of the game mechanics and to understand that tapping on items causes a response.
There are over 35 experiences for kids to play in, each of which needs to be downloaded. Parents should set up whether or not they want downloads to occur off wifi.
